Wow, how time flies!! Diego is almost a year and a half, and TONs of fun. This is the only sad picture I've snapped in a long time, but I just had to post it. He says agua, alli esta, mama, dada, amen, mas, Hi, Hola, and bye. We've got a little girl coming in April and are way excited! I continue to work two days a week in clinic, and Tito is at the fire station. He will graduate from UVU in December. We bought a home in Eagle Mountain earlier this year and LOVE it. So, that's about it. Would love to hear from you all. Post people, post!!

So here is our son, 8 months old. Crawling, cruising, and climbing stairs. Yes, I know CRAZY, but true. Eats everything, and loves string cheese and yogurt. Appears to understand spanish, but still no discernable words. Loves books, his gorilla, and watching other children. We love watching his happy disposition as he experiences new things. I love motherhood!

YES, we did have a baby. And we're enjoying it so much we thought we'd drop off the face of the earth for a while. Really we've just been so busy. We still have people over for food and BBQs all the time and so it just got more hectic with a baby. However, we're adjusting more every day. Labor and delivery was fine...enough so that Seth is already planning a second child. Ha, ha! Don't worry, I do have some say in the matter.
So these are some of our favorite pictures of Ruby. She is two months old now and I went back to work full time just this last week. While that was hard, it's better that I did it sooner than later. And, Seth gets her sometimes and then my amazing sister also helps out when he can't take her. So, she's in the best of hands!

This is what happens when you aren't big enough to crawl or roll...you flail your limbs in excitement (hence the blur) while making crazy noises.

Asher may look just like Jonny, but he is definitely partly mine! I know this because he has a sweet tooth. When I give him real baby food - on numerous occasions - he gags and cries. When I give him Oreos he eats them up happy as can be! He likes anything that has sugar as a main ingredient!

Yes - you read that right. I broke my freaking leg!!!! Crashed a dirt bike at the sand dunes with my hubby. Four hour surgery with seven incisions (2 big, 5 scope holes), seven screws, one plate and a complicated ACL evulsion fracture suture repair. I will be completely none weight bearing for 12 weeks which makes for a long summer and worse - impossible to care for my 2 month old! UGGHHH! Sara A.

Arrington New Addition

Here is a picture of the newest edition to the Arrington Family. We named him Asher. He was born 03/17/2009 weighing 5 lbs 14 oz and is 18 inches long. He was early because of my blood pressure - I was only 36 weeks - but we are both doing fine now! Hope all is well with everyone else. Sara A.

Weather Foes...

Camera and I didn't make it to paragliding. 30 minutes prior to lift off, the instructor called it off due to windy and overcast weather. So, there will be a reschedule of this crazy adventure. We will let you know when attempt #2 occurs. Until then, we are enjoying having our feet on the ground...

Tropical Storm Fay

So, for Graduation, we decided to go to Florida and get away for a week. You know, see the family, enjoy the weather- hit the beach. Unluckily for us, we arrived at the cusp of a Tropical Storm/almost hurricane. We watched the olympics, slept, ate, and...that's pretty much it. But, hey, who else can say they've survived a tropical storm? Ok, don't answer that. I'm sure at least half of you have. But it was exciting while it lasted- and then it got really boring fast. Still doesn't change my mind about moving to Florida- although i will have to get a pretty awesome entertainment center to occupy my mind during the painstakingly long hours of boredom during such tempests- or maybe a huge library? We'll have to see.

I will be working with UCSA. Yes, that would be the same group that Wes was going to work with. I will be working 4, 10 hr shifts a week, no night call or holidays. However, I do work a weekend every 6-8 weeks, but it will be the same 10 hr shifts and it will be part of my 40 hrs and not in addition. I'm excited. I also want to hear when all of you have officially signed and where you will be. I have to keep tabs on you and REFER, REFER, REFER!!!

Distinguished Nursing Research Award

At a recent Intermountain Healthcare Research Conference Krista was presented with the Distinguished Nursing Research Award for her thesis, Parental Perceptions of Sibling Relationships in Families Rearing a Child with a Disability. Krista’s chair was Barbara Mandleco, with committee members Susanne Olsen Roper and Amy Harmer Cox.

Krista is employed at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in the Medical/Surgical ICU as well as at Timpanogos ER. She enjoys swimming, hiking, camping, biking, snowboarding, and spending time with her husband, Bryce Nielsen. She earned her BS in nursing at BYU and looks forward to graduating in August 2008 as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
